What type of data do we collect and why do we need it?

We will only hold and retain information about you which is specifically needed to deliver a money advice service to you. We collect information provided by the charity to whom you have applied for financial assistance or by the charities listed above about yourself and, where relevant, your partner and dependants. Data may relate to your contact information, date of birth, employment status, work, marital status and finances.

Except where permitted by law we will not collect sensitive personal data about you without your consent.

We will process your personal information, in accordance with applicable data laws, particularly for the following reasons:

We will never sell or trade your personal data for the purposes of marketing. We will not pass your personal information to any third parties except in the circumstances set out below:

How long will we keep information about you?

We keep data for as long as we consider that it is legitimately needed. For clients who have received advice we retain summary information and all other data is deleted after a maximum of six years.

How do you keep my information secure?

We make sure that there are appropriate measures in place to protect your personal details in terms of cyber security. Personal data is stored securely. Any paperwork is kept to a minimum, locked away when not in use and securely destroyed when no longer needed.

Can I request the information you hold about me?

If you wish to see information we hold about you, we will respond to a written request with evidence of ID, within 30 days, by providing paper copies of all documents. A copy of information will normally be provided free of charge except where the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive. We reserve the right to refuse to respond.
